"Devils, Demons and Speaking To The Dead"

Introduction:   While I was substituting the other day, when the test was over, I was asked about those people on TV that are speaking to dead people on the other side.  I told them I would really like to discuss the subject, but it wasn’t allowed.  I knew I would begin preaching, then I wouldn’t have a part time job again.

 

Some of the students commented the programs were really good.  It to me is scary that are children are learning at home to watch a necromancer at work; (One who inquires of the dead.)

 

What does God Have to say about necromancers?

 

Deuteronomy 18:10-12         

 

There is also a woman (devil) who speaks to animals in the name psychology (babble).

 

I have a couple of questions for you;  Do you believe your King James Bible to be the Word of God?

 

Do you believe it word for word?  Are there any errors in this Bible?  Not those perversions, The Holy Bible.

 

Do you believe there are people who can speak to the dead?

 

Do you believe Satan walks amongst us?

 

I.          DEVILS AND THE DEMONS

            A.        They That Sacrifice To Devils

 

1 Corinthians 10:20   But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.

 

1.                  Not to God

a.      We are not to fellowship with devils.

b.      Who is sacrificing to the devil?

c.       When we don’t take our children to church

i.    They are being given to the devil.  (sacrificed)

 

            B.        The Devils Believe Our Bible

 

James 2:19      Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

 

                        1.         They tremble

                                    a.         They know the end is coming

b.                  They still believe they can

win eventually.

 

            C.        Jesus Cast Them Out

 

Matthew 4:24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

 

                        1.         Those which were possessed.

a.         Folks people are possessed this day.

b.         A lady at the nursing home a JW

 

Matthew 9:32-33        As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. 33And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.

 

            C.        Protect Yourself

 

Ephesians 6:11           Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

 

 

II.        TALKING TO THE DEAD

            A.        The Path To The Dead

                        1.         Necromancer

 

Deuteronomy 18:10-12 10There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

a.                  Not to be found among you.

1.                  Fortune tellers

2.                  People talking to the dead

3.                  Witch talking to animals.

b.                  Familiar spirits

c.                   Wizards

B.        All Is An Abomination To God

 

Leviticus 17:7a           And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils...

 

 

III.       IS DEMON POSSESSION FACT OR FICTION

 

Acts 16:16-18 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:  17The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which show unto us the way of salvation. 18And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

 

            A.        Paul Cast Out The Demon

                        1.         The demon left within the hour

2.                  Notice how it grieved Paul

3.                  He finally command the spirit to leave

 

B.                 The Foul Spirits          (Unclean Spirit)

 

Mark 9:22-27  And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. 23Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 24And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. 25When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.  26And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead. 27But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.

 

            C.        Gergesene Demonics

 

Matthew 8:28-32        And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.  29And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?  30And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.  31So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine. 32And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine:..

 

Conclusion:     We have seen in the Holy Word of God where devils and demons exist.  Nowhere in the Holy Word of God does it say they have been removed.

 

I asked earlier “Do you believe this is the Word of God?”

 

Do you believe we have demon possessions today as described in the Holy Word of God.

 

We do have demon possession of human bodies today.

 

We have the same demons running around today, possessing souls, which were being cast out by Jesus and the Apostles.

 

We have necromancer TV shows along with the other idiot shows in the afternoon.  People are coming forward to talk to family members that have died.

 

Folks these necromancers shows are an abomination to God.        Who else is an abomination?

 

People who watch these shows and join in the amazing feats.

 

Kinda like watching Benny Hinn

 

Understand we have the influence of the devil all around us.

 

A demon cannot occupy the same body as the Holy Spirit.

 

Understand there are possessed people out their who want to possess you, as if the devil possessed you, beware.

 

Get right with God, it is our only protection from demonic possession.

 

Repent and get right, we are told to change our ways by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.

 

John 3:14-18

 

We must lift up Jesus

            So others may see

 

Whosoever believes

            Will not perish

            Will have everlasting life

 

God gave His Son

            That whosoever

            Everlasting life

 

God sent His Son

            To Save

            Not to Condemn

                        He that believes

                                    Shall not be condemned

Today Protect yourself

Put Christ’s Comforter in place
