Our Victory In Jesus

 1 Corinthians 15:51-58

While I was filling in Friday at the high school, one of my favorite tune was going through my head.  “Victory in Jesus” was going over and over, and I got to the chorus where it states “…he sought me and bought me…” I determined God was giving me a message.  So this message is about how he sought me and bought me.

I.          HE SOUGHT ME

            A.            He Has Always Known Me

1.                  Before I knew Him

Ephesians 1:4             According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

                                    a.            He hath chosen us in Him

b.                  Before the foundation of the

world was set.

i.                    Before Adam

ii.                  Before Genesis 1:1

II.        HE BOUGHT ME

            A.            He Paid The Price

Galatians 1:3-5          Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,  4Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:  5To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

1.                  He gave Himself

2.                  For My Sins

3.                  That He might deliver us

a. From this evil world.

B.        According To The Will Of God and Our Father.

III.       HE LOVED ME

A.                God Commended His Love

Romans 5:8                But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

                        1.            Saved from His wrath   (v 9)

1 John 4:7-8            Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.  8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

2.                  Love is of God

3.                  God is love

1 John 4:10            Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

4.                  Herein is love

a.                  He sent His Son to be

i. The appeasement

ii. For our sins

IV.       HE SAVED ME

A.                Somehow Jesus Came and

1.                  Brought to me Victory

2.                  I don’t know how

1 John 4:15            Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

3.                  Whosoever shall confess

a. Jesus is the Son of God

b.                  God dwells within Him

i. He in God

1 Peter 1:23            Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

B.                Are You Born Again?

1. By the Word of God?

V.        HE PROMISED ME A MANSION

A.            In My Father’s House

John 14:2-4    In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.  4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

1.                  Many mansions

2.                  He is preparing a place for me

3.                  He said He is coming again

B.                He Is Coming Again

1 Thessalonians 2:19                 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?

1.                  My Lord and Saviour is coming back for me.

I know He is coming back for me.

How about you?            Reserve that mansion today.

Are you born again according to the Word of God.

Not because your Dad or your Granddaddy was a preacher.

Not because your Momma loved the Lord.

It has to be because you love and believe and are willing to change and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour.

Jesus tells us in:

John 3:16-18            For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Paul tells us in:

Romans 10:9            That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 10:13            For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
